Dr. Diane Hines is a proud native of Detroit. In 1979, she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology, and in 1983, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
After graduation, Dr. Hines used both degrees as a public health dentist. Over the years, she served with the Oakland County Health Department, the City of Detroit Health Department, and within correctional facilities. By working with underserved populations, she developed a deep sense of compassion, which strengthened her commitment to caring for those in need.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Hines is active in the Michigan Dental Association (MDA). She served on multiple committees, including the Continuing Education Committee, and has supported campaigns for several MDA presidents. Additionally, she was appointed by two Michigan governors to the State Board of Dentistry, where she served for eight years, with four years as board chair.
