Implant Denture Process Explained
In this video, Dr. Diane Hines shares how the implant process works, from your first exam to your final restoration.
When you come in for a dental implant consultation, we begin with a free exam that includes X-rays, a CBCT 3D scan, and a full evaluation. This allows us to determine whether you are a good candidate for implants.
If you qualify, the next step is a digital scan and impressions to create a temporary healing appliance. You may have seen commercials advertising “Teeth in a Day.” While you will leave with a temporary appliance on the day of surgery, the implants still need time (typically 3 to 6 months) to integrate with your bone. During this healing phase, you’ll follow a soft-food diet to protect the implants.
Once healing is complete, we take another impression and fabricate your final appliance. Upon delivery, we provide instructions on how to clean and maintain the item. To ensure long-term success, we recommend returning at least twice a year for checkups so we can monitor your implants and keep them in excellent health.
