1. Initial Consultation

During your initial visit, we will assess your smile and the quality of your jaw using a CBCT. This 3D digital scan helps us get a good look at your jawbone and determine whether you have enough bone to support an implant. If not, we use procedures like bone grafting to rebuild lost bone.

Once we’re sure you have enough bone to proceed, we will design a custom treatment plan for your smile.

2. Procedural Visit

At your procedural appointment, we will extract any remaining teeth that need to be removed. Then, with your jawbone in good condition, we will begin placing the implants.

First, we use a local anesthetic to numb your gum and bone tissue. If necessary, we also provide sedation dentistry to help you relax. These safe but effective sedation options, like nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation, keep you awake during your procedure, but in a calm and relaxed state.

Once you’re comfortable, we’ll make an incision in your gums to access your jawbone. Then, we create an opening in the bone with a series of drills and gently screw your implants in place. The anterior (or front) implants are placed vertically in the jaw. But the posterior implants are typically placed at a 30-45° angle to avoid important structures like your sinuses while improving your bite strength.

3. Final Denture

With your implants in place, we’ll secure a temporary denture prosthetic on top. This denture is functional, but you may need to follow some dietary restrictions until you receive your final denture. Over the next 3 to 4 months, your implants will integrate with your bone. Then, once your implants are secure, we’ll place a custom-made denture that looks and feels natural in your mouth!
